Introducing Maddux John Gerving!

Well I figured almost a week after Maddux was born, I better update the blog!
We welcomed little Maddux John Gerving into the world on June 17, 2009 at 11:16 am. He weighed in at 7 lbs 13 oz and was 20 1/4" long. He's healthy and beautiful and has a full head of hair.
We have been busy the last week learning how to be Mommy and Daddy to Maddux! It is exhausting but is by far the most rewarding experience we will ever have. We thank God everyday for our little boy!
Maddux had his first doctor's appointment yesterday - and he tipped the scales at 8 lbs even - 3 ounces heavier than when he was born! Everything else checked out perfectly healthy as well!
Here are some pictures from the first week of Maddux's life:

Maddux had LOTS of visitors - family and friends!

There were more visitors that we don't have pictures of - but we appreciate everyone coming to see our little Maddux! We know he is loved by so many family and friends already :)
The beagles got to meet their little brother on Saturday - Jerz has pretty much gone with the flow but Bailey we think is still a bit scared of the baby especially when he cries. But, they are good with him so far, which is good!
Will post more pictures soon!!

Quick Update

We had another appointment today and there was some progress noted (I will spare you the details) but again nothing too groundbreaking. We're really hoping he decides to come on his own in the meantime, but have decided, along with the doctor, to induce labor on the 17th if he doesn't come on his own by then. So, the end of this pregnancy and the beginning of our little boy's life in the outside world is in sight!! Until then we'll keep hoping and praying for a safe delivery and a healthy little baby boy!!

The Waiting Game

We had another appointment today and basically nothing really groundbreaking happening regarding this baby's arrival yet! I did notice that he's made a big drop from where he was before (as of yesterday) and the doctor confirmed this, but other than that, no imminent signs of labor. Dang it! We will have to continue to wait to meet this little guy I guess!! Our next appointment is next Tuesday. We'll see if there's any progress at that point...

In other news, Jay and some others have accomplished getting the front and side yards seeded at our house. Now comes the chore of watering it as much as possible until we get it established. Jay has been diligent about that - I'm going to give it a try tonight while he's at softball...

Some things are starting to grow pretty well in my rookie year garden. Hopefully we'll get some good veggies out of it this year!! Hail stay away!!

That's about all for now...I better get back to work!!
